RUGBY WORLD CUP: OPENING CEREMONY
In 2011, Thomas worked with renowned NZ Director and Choreographer Shona McCullagh to help choreograph the RWC Opening Ceremony at Eden Park, NZ. The ceremony consisted of a 500-person assembly featuring a blend of traditional Māori and modern New Zealand culture. It began with a fleet of 26 waka entering the city harbour. It featured traditional haka and sipi tau dances in reference to the opening match between New Zealand and Tonga and ended with a large pyrotechnics display.
